Biography

ProPath, a Sonic Healthcare anatomic pathology practice, is pleased to include Aggie Czapla, M.D., as a part of its dynamic medical staff. Dr. Czapla is a double board-certified pathologist who brings professional medical and teaching experience to her position.

Dr. Czapla graduated with a Bachelor of Science in microbiology from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. She then earned her medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean in Cupecoy, St. Maarten. She served an anatomic and clinical pathology residency at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she served as chief resident. Dr. Czapla completed two fellowships. The first was a cytopathology fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois. The second was a fellowship in breast pathology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.

Dr. Czapla has professional medical, leadership and teaching experience. While at UT Southwestern, she presented to the multidisciplinary breast tumor board and worked on radiology pathology correlation. Dr. Czapla has been a member of ProPath’s pathology team since 2017. Since then, she has also been appointed as the PPS medical director at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth. She also sits on a number of professional committees. She sits on the membership and progressive evaluation of competency question committees for the American Society of Cytopathology. Previously, she was a member of the cancer committee and pathology residency candidate selection committee at AlleghenyHealth Network.

Dr. Czapla has peer-reviewed manuscripts in medical journals, including Diagnostic Cytopathology and BMJ Case Reports. She has also presented multiple abstracts at professional conferences, including meetings of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology and the American Society of Clinical Pathology.

Dr. Czapla belongs to several professional organizations. These include: the American Society of Cytopathology, College of American Pathologists, Texas Society of Pathologists, and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology.

Dr. Czapla holds full medical licensure and is board-certified in cytopathology and anatomic and clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology.
