Biography

ProPath, a Sonic Healthcare anatomic pathology practice, is privileged to include Valerie M. Juarez, M.D., as a part of its dynamic medical staff. Dr. Juarez is a double board-certified pathologist who has experience in both hospital and lab settings.

Dr. Juarez graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from The University of Texas at San Antonio. She earned her medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She served a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. This was followed by fellowships in gastrointestinal and liver pathology and hematopathology, also at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Dr. Juarez held a position as a pathologist at UT Southwestern Medical Center before joining ProPath in Dallas, TX, also as a pathologist.

Dr. Juarez has presented abstracts at meetings of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, Texas Society of Pathologists, and the American Society for Clinical Pathology. She also presented an abstract at a Digestive Disease Week conference.

Dr. Juarez is a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology, College of American Pathologists, North Texas Society of Pathologists, and Texas Society of Pathologists.

Dr. Juarez holds full medical licensure and is board-certified in hematopathology and anatomic and clinical pathology.
